Hi! I’m Jaisie Sin. I am a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Okanagan Visualization & Interaction Lab and Aging in Place Research Cluster at the University of British Columbia’s Okanagan campus.

In July 2024, I will be starting as an Assistant Professor at Carleton University in Ottawa, in the School of Information Technology at the Faculty of Engineering and Design.

My research focuses on conversational and voice user interfaces, virtual agents, the inclusive design of technology for older adults, issues of social marginalization, and virtual reality. My research aims to reduce barriers to technology access and adoption and prevent design-based marginalization of underrepresented users such as older adults.

At the University of Toronto, I obtained my PhD and MI from the Faculty of Information (iSchool), and HBSc (Computer Science & Neuroscience) from the Faculty of Arts and Science.

Feel free to check out my publications on Google Scholar or follow my work on Twitter (@jcsynnn).
